About us

Hello, my name is Veronica, and I am the founder of WanderAbility, a tour operator born from passion, care, and the desire to make Italy truly accessible to everyone.

From Florence, with Love and Accessibility

Born and raised in Florence, I have always been passionate about art, history, and the beauty of my city. After studying Art History, I became a licensed tour guide, eager to share the magic of Florence with visitors from around the world.

My journey into accessible tourism, however, began much closer to home. Traveling with my sister Silvia, who has spastic tetraparesis, opened my eyes to a reality many travelers face every day: how challenging it can be to explore even the most beautiful places when accessibility is not guaranteed.

Turning Passion into Purpose

While working as a tour guide, I saw firsthand how challenging my beloved Florence could be for people with disabilities and special needs. Together with a group of passionate friends and fellow guides, I co-founded Libero Accesso, a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating inclusive and accessible tours. Through this experience, I learned a lot and had the opportunity to collaborate with inspiring individuals and organisations promoting accessible travel throughout Italy.

How WanderAbility Was Born

These experiences led me to transform my passion into a full-time commitment, and this is how WanderAbility was born. Our mission is simple but meaningful: to build a nationwide network for accessible tourism in Italy, helping travelers with disabilities and specific needs find reliable support and well-designed travel experiences. At WanderAbility, we design inclusive travel experiences and accessible tours in Italy with great care and attention to detail. Alongside tailor-made itineraries, we offer practical services such as:

  • wheelchair rentals and mobility aids
  • accessible transportation
  • inclusive tours designed for everybody
  • tactile tours for blind or visually impaired travelers

Discover Italy without Limits

With WanderAbility, everyone can experience the beauty of Italy—from the art-filled streets of Florence to the canals of Venice, the vineyards of Tuscany, and beyond.

Because travel should be accessible to all, and every journey deserves to be lived with freedom!
