Ravenna Touch
The itinerary focuses on the most iconic places in Ravenna, allowing visitors to learn about the history and art, but above all to admire the mosaics through Christian symbolism with the help of models and the tactile supports of the Ravenna per Mano project.
We will visit the Basilica of San Vitale touching columns, mosaic floors, sarcophagi and typical Byzantine bricks. We will perceive the spaces and architecture of the Basilica as well as the subsidence of the floor.
We will learn about Dante Alighieri's history in Ravenna by walking through the Zona del Silenzio (Silence zone) and Dante's places up to his tomb.
We will also stop at a mosaic workshop to learn about this antique technique, touch the materials and appreciate the mosaicists who continue this noble art.
The visit includes a short walk, which allows you to get a feel for the atmosphere of the city with the chatter of people in the cafés and the tradition of riding a bicycle, breathing in its scents and passing through the medieval market area and the main square.
