If there is one place I have to recommend, that is a must-see place in Florence, it is definitely the Uffizi Gallery, the oldest museum in Europe.

The Uffizi is not just the most visited museum in Italy, not just the container of an outstanding collection of paintings and sculptures,  but also a place that tells us the story of a city and of rich families of bankers and collectors.

Visiting the Uffizi is like stepping into an Art book, and page after page, we learn the crucial role that art played in the past as a means of prestige, propaganda and salvation. A way to perpetuate the memory of (rich) people and to become immortal.
